What does Florida give you that nowhere else does?

Everyday is a kind of Groundhog Day. You don’t need to worry about the seasons changing, and life just kind of draws out in front of you in this beautifully auspicious way.

Quintessential Florida meal?

Jumbo claws at Joe’s Stone Crab with a side of fried chicken and stuffed tomatoes. The Key Lime is a must.

If you had to choose: Art you live with or art you collect?

Art you live with. I’m not a speculative collector (though a good eye can deliver pleasant surprises).

Some would argue that fine art can be so esoteric. What draws you to the discipline?

Art provides a lens through which we can assess the complexity of the present.

If an artwork is simply aesthetic...dare I say “decorative”...how can it compel you to think more critically about the world?

What are some of your favorite local haunts?

My husband and I live in Jupiter, so our day to day is a bit quieter than West Palm Beach or Palm Beach Island. We enjoy Leftover’s for weekday dinners, Square Grouper for a cold beer, and the Juno Dog Beach for family outings.

Ok, your version sounds pretty idyllic. Where do you escape when not in paradise?

I seek any opportunity to travel out West. Especially in the summertime. Jackson Hole. Aspen. Park City. My non-negotiables: country music, ranch water, a Kemo Sabe hat (I have too many), and Tecovas boots.

What’s playing in your headphones on any given day?

Fleetwood Mac, The Black Keys, or Royel Otis.

Any parting words for your fellow reader?

Life is too short to worry about being “cool”. Celebrate your passion, ask your questions, and pursue the weird hobby. You’re in Florida, after all. We are known for our unique brand of whimsy.
