Sara Zhu
Sara Zhu is a genre blending jazz flutist, vocalist, songwriter, photographer, producer, and educator based in Washington, DC.
She has been a featured artist at establishments such as The Kreeger Museum in addition to Forte Jazz Lounge in Charleston, SC. Zhu performs regularly as both a leader and side-woman in many of DC’s staple establishments and is a passionate educator, recently giving a masterclass on improvisation at St. Mary's College. Zhu is currently working on a jazz influenced acoustic indie-folk project with her band, “Romulus,” and does audio engineering and producing for artists of all mediums. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance from James Madison University.
